Yanmar Planing powerboats
Yanmar 6LPA-ST(Z)P2
up to 315 hp · Compact six-cylinder power

The 6LPA-STP2 packs six cylinders into a compact, light block, up to around 315 horsepower to get a planing boat up and moving without the weight of a big six.
Bigger engines, bigger consequences if they’re neglected. We keep them serviced, diagnose them properly, and rebuild or repower when it’s time.
Who it’s for: Powerboat owners running a 6LPA-STP2 or 6LPA-STZP2, sportsfishers, cruisers and fast launches.

How we can help
Phil’s tips
Straight from the workshop
Tether the key to the sea cock
If you close the sea cock for the engine every time you leave the vessel, leave the engine key tethered to the sea cock handle. You physically cannot start the engine without opening the water first.
Let it warm up
Always let your engine warm up before working it. A few minutes at the dock gives the oil time to circulate, and you will get a better service life out of the engine for it.
