Sydney Diesel Marine

Clean fuel, clean running

Fuel Injection & Fuel Systems

Injectors, pumps, filters and fuel cleanliness sorted, the heart of a diesel that starts first time and runs clean.

Engine oil being poured into a Yanmar marine diesel during a service

On a diesel, most hard-starting, rough-running and power-loss problems come back to fuel. Dirty tanks, tired injectors, a filter that’s given up, small things that stop you enjoying the boat.

We service the whole fuel path, from the tank through to the injectors, so the engine fires first time and pulls the way it should.

What’s involved

Injectors & pumps

Injector and injection-pump service and replacement, set up correctly for your Yanmar model.

Filters & bleeding

Primary and secondary filters, water separators, and a proper bleed so there’s no air in the system.

Fuel cleanliness

Sorting dirty fuel and contaminated tanks, the quiet cause behind a lot of “won’t start” calls.

Genuine parts

Genuine Yanmar filters and fuel components off our own shelf in Artarmon, not whatever’s closest.

Why Sydney Diesel Marine

A diesel lives and dies on clean fuel. Get the fuel side right and most running problems disappear.

Phil’s tips

Straight from the workshop

Have your tappet clearances checked

Ask for the tappet clearances to be measured at your next service. Keeping them properly adjusted gives the engine a better performing, cleaner running life.

Tether the key to the sea cock

If you close the sea cock for the engine every time you leave the vessel, leave the engine key tethered to the sea cock handle. You physically cannot start the engine without opening the water first.
