Boating can be incredibly rewarding, especially when you know your engine will start reliably and keep you moving with confidence.
Regular servicing keeps your engine dependable and guarantees more time on the water, enjoying your investment. We service your Yanmar on schedule, catch the small things before they become big ones, and keep the engine dependable for a stress-free boating experience.
“The quality of workmanship is never compromised.”
What’s involved
Scheduled servicing
Oil and filters, impellers, anodes, belts, coolant and the full check-over, done to Yanmar’s intervals, using genuine parts off our own shelf.
Fault-finding done right
When something’s not right we diagnose it properly rather than throwing parts at it. Cranking but not firing, overheating, won’t crank at all. We get to the cause.
We come to the vessel
On a marina, on a mooring, or on the hard. We turn up with the tooling and the parts already on board, so most jobs are sorted in the one visit.
Straight advice
We tell you what needs doing now and what can wait. Call a spade a spade. We’re not here to rip anybody off.
The Yanmar specialist
One brand, known like the back of our hands. Australia’s only Yanmar specialist, with dealer-only diagnostics, factory training and genuine parts on the shelf.
Why Sydney Diesel Marine
Every job gets the same treatment: turn up prepared, fix it properly, get the owner back on the water. Phil’s still on the tools himself, and every job is held to the same standard.
Engines we service
Phil’s tips
Straight from the workshop
Tether the key to the sea cock
If you close the sea cock for the engine every time you leave the vessel, leave the engine key tethered to the sea cock handle. You physically cannot start the engine without opening the water first.
Let it warm up
Always let your engine warm up before working it. A few minutes at the dock gives the oil time to circulate, and you will get a better service life out of the engine for it.
